Do you work with all animals?
Yes I do. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dog or a horse or a sheep or a bird or any other living creature – this Animal Mindfullness technique creates peaceful relationships between ourselves and another species. See my Updates page for examples of many animals.
Can you help my dog stop barking?
Barking is a normal language for dogs. And some breeds bark more than others. When barking happens too often or for too long then we need to look into the Why? Your dog may be frustrated or anxious or upset in some way. Using this Animal Mindfullness techique can help both calm your dog and also give you more understanding about why your dog barks so much.
This question could be about fear aggression, separation anxiety, biting, not liking being touched or animals who don’t like men or children or other animals and so on. Can you help my animal stop biting, chewing, clinging, avoiding, growling, fighting etc etc.
Can Animal Mindfullness help? Yes. Because it helps your animal, any animal, get more peaceful inside. Not just behaving more peacefully, but deep inside they feel more at peace.
So yes, it helps all animals and all problems.
How long does a session with you last?
The consultation takes about an hour and a half. Follow-up sessions are an hour long.
What happens in the consultation session?
I visit you at home or in your animal’s natural environment. We spend time talking through your situation and discussing how Trust Technique can help you both. I demonstrate the technique with your animal and then I show you how to do it yourself. You will be able to see the technique changing your animal’s behaviour. Most commonly people see their animal get very peaceful and relaxed.
How many sessions do I need?
After the first consultation you will need to have at least two more sessions. This gives me the chance to make sure everything is going well and also to make a plan for you to follow. In between sessions you stay in touch with me via text and whatsapp for more support and help.
But how can practising this at home, help when we are outside dealing with a difficult situation?
At the beginning you use the Trust Technique only in your animal’s normal environment – the home for dogs and cats and the stable or field for a horse or donkey. It is only after you build confidence and connection with this that you take it out ‘onto the street’. If an animal can’t feel peaceful in their familiar place then how can we expect them to be peaceful in a more stimulating environment?
After a few weeks of daily practice the plan is built to introduce Trust Technique into more challenging situations. We do this slowly and patiently and this is a time when we learn a lot about their thinking patterns and our own!
Can I really learn this on Zoom?
I do many sessions online. This means I can work with people who live far away or who need sessions out of normal hours. Online sessions are also excellent for animals that are not comfortable around strangers. These sessions are just as good as being there in person.
All you need is a phone or ipad with a camera so I can see your animal. This allows me to observe them throughout the session. We talk together as normal and your animal hears my voice and I believe feels my presence. I love working on Zoom.
